01/23/13 County Police Officer Nick Laffoon stopped on vehicle on US 31 Sunday morning before 6 after it crossed the center line several times as it entered into Marshall County.

The driver, 40 year old Jennifer Laurant, former Executive Director of the Marshall County Economic Development Corporation was traveling south out of state with her dog in the vehicle.  The dog was moving around in the car, causing her to cross the center line.

When Officer Laffoon ran her driver’s license it came back suspended with a prior charge.  She was incarcerated in the Marshall County Jail for Driving While Suspended.  Her vehicle was impounded and her dog was taken to the Marshall County Humane Society.

Ms. Laurent was able to pay her $1,505 cash bond within a few hours.  She is scheduled to appear in Marshall Superior Court II on February 19th.
