01/16/13 Only minor injuries were the result of a two vehicle crash on Oak Drive Friday afternoon.

Plymouth Office Shelly Cleveland invested the crash which involved two pick-up trucks.

According to the crash report, 48 year old Gary Masterson of Plymouth was stopped, northbound on Oak Drive in the left hand lane waiting to make a turn onto Jim Neu Drive in a 2012 Dodge pick-up trucked owned by the Marshall County Commissioners. His truck was rear-ended by a 1997 Ford F-`150 driven by 35 year old James Packer of Walkerton.

Packer told Officer Cleveland that he was traveling north bound and a semi also heading north cut him off.  Packer said he swerved into the left lane to avoid the collision with the semi and instead read-ended the County pick-up truck that was stopped waiting for south bound traffic to clear so he could make a turn to the west.

The semi driver, Tanasa Vasile told officers he did not cut off the driver.  He advised that Packer was driving aggressively and almost rear-ended another vehicle previously to this accident by trying to race around and pass the semi.

Packers 1997 Ford sustained major damage to the front end and he sustained bumps and bruises to his body but was not treated by Plymouth EMS.

The County’s pick-up truck sustained damage to the tailgate and truck bed and the back window of the cab was broke out when Masterson’s head hit it after the initial impact.   Gary Masterson sustained a cut to the head and pain from the crash.  He was treated for his injuries.
