04/29/13 Courtney DeMont, a 15 year old, Argos Student who was injured in a horrific accident on Thursday, April 18th and will need the help of the community as she begins to recuperate.
There is a fund set up at any First Source Bank in the name of Courtney DeMont Benefit Fund. The bank will collecting donations for Courtney’s family including gas cards, Wal-Mart Cards for groceries and cash loaded cards for help with on the road meals and expenses.
A Team Courtney-Defy the Odds T-Shirt has been put together in honor of Courtney who is still in the care of physicians at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. T-Shirts are available in all sizes, from infants up to several extra large sizes. The T-shirts cost $12 each with an additional $2 for any size above x-large.
T-shirts should be prepaid and ordered in Argos from students Kayla Hendricks and Beth Cohagen at Argos High School. The Argos Community area may call Tracy Stockman at (574)-892-6831. Plymouth High School students can order the shirts from Courtney Hersick or Hannah DeMont and for those in the Plymouth area, you may visit the WTCA Radio Station located at 112 West Washington Street.
Another fundraiser planned is a Car Wash and Bake Sale which will be held at the Argos Fire House located at 201 West Walnut Street on Saturday, May 4th at 10 AM. The car wash will continue until the last car is washed and the bake sale will go on until all the baked goods are gone. The car wash is donation only with all proceeds going to benefit Courtney DeMont.
Kellie VanDerWeele, a representative with “It Works” will be doing wrap parties for anyone who messages her on facebook. Anyone who signs with Kelli during this time will be under Jessica Morlan, Courtney’s mother. Since Jessica has exhausted her FMLA leave during the months of her mother’s illness and passing she has no income right now. This is Kellie’s way of contributing. Kellie and her “It Works” teammates have donated wraps for the parties and 100 % of all proceeds will go directly into the Jessica Morlan household. Golf Fore Courtney! Will be held at the Tri Way Golf Course on Sunday, May 19th beginning at 9 AM. Cost will be $75 for individual Golfers and foursomes will be $280.
