04/10/13 A community workshop to create a comprehensive plan for Culver will be hosted by the Town of Culver on Monday, April 22nd from 6 to 8:30 at the Culver Park Beach Lodge. The workshop is the first of several face-to-face community outreach events scheduled throughout the planning process. The purpose of this first workshop is to allow residents and businesses of Culver to voice what they value most about the community and the issues they would like to see addressed.

The workshop will begin with a review of the purpose of a Comprehensive Plan and the planning process, and conclude with a workshop to secure local views on problems, issues and potentials within the community.

What is a Comprehensive Plan? The Town of Culver’s Comprehensive Plan will serve as the official guide for land use, physical improvement and development. The Comprehensive Plan will provide a foundation for decision-making based on community consensus, community vision, existing conditions and future potentials. The Plan is intended to serve as a “road map” for 10 to 15 years into the future by guiding policy decisions and helping the community achieve its long-term objectives.

The Comprehensive Plan for the Town of Culver will address a variety of topics and will likely include community-wide plans for land use and development, annexation and growth areas, transportation and mobility, open space and environmental features, community facilities, and infrastructure.
