09/24/13  On Saturday, September 21st at approximately 12:50 a.m. a Marshall County Sheriff’s Deputy initiated a traffic stop on  a vehicle on US 31 near the intersection of 12th Road.  During the investigation Officer Cooper’s K9 partner, Arras walked around the outside of the vehicle and indicated the presence of narcotics.  A search of the vehicle located paraphernalia items, including pseudo-ephedrine pills.

It was determined that that the driver, 49 year old Stephen L. Hensley of Argos had a prior conviction for Dealing Methamphetamine in 2009.  The new Indiana Law prohibits anyone with certain meth related charges within the last 7 years from possessing ephedrine or pseudoephedrine.

Mr. Hensley was taken into custody for possession of precursors by a meth offender and reckless possession of paraphernalia. He was transported to the Marshall County Jail and held on a $1,505 bond.  Hensley was released later Saturday after posting bond.   He will appear in Marshall Superior Court II on October 22nd at 8:30 a.m.
