07/16/13 On Friday, July 12th at approximately 6:20 p.m. Marshall County police units were advised of a hit and run accident that had occurred on US 30 near Oak Drive. 

The suspect vehicle had continued east on US 30 and Officer Jordan Rans was able to locate the vehicle and made a traffic stop on Jarrah Road north of 5th Road  During the traffic stop, it was believed that the driver was intoxicated.  During the investigation, the suspect, 30 year old Mr. Omer R. Trent who is listed a homeless fled on foot from officers.  Patrolman Rans and Patrolman Jonathan Bryant pursued Trent on foot and subdued him using a tazer.  He was taken into custody and lodged in the Marshall County Jail for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, resisting law enforcement and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.

His bond was set at $1,505 cash and he is scheduled to appear in Marshall Superior Court II on July 30th.
