11/25/13 Indiana Senate President Pro Tempore David Long Friday announced the launch of the Indiana Senate Majority Caucus’ newly redesigned website, www.indianasenaterepublicans.com.
‚ÄúAs technology continues to develop, new tools are now available to help people stay connected,‚ÄĚ Long said. ‚ÄúThe legislative process relies on an informed and engaged constituency, and our new website is designed to make that as easy as possible for Hoosiers.‚ÄĚ
The Senate Majority website features a new layout and design, and is capable of being viewed by multiple devices with any level of Internet connection. The website structure is better organized to help visitors find legislative information quickly and easily. Another important component of the new site is its focus upon merging social media and integrating multimedia on almost every page. This includes videos, podcasts, blogs and more.
Long highlighted some of the website’s new features, including:
¬∑¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†Contact My Senator ‚Äď Visitors can find information on which lawmaker represents them and how to contact him or her.
¬∑¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†Watch Live ‚Äď Visitors will see the General Assembly‚Äôs daily schedule here, and be able to watch committee hearings and Senate sessions live.
¬∑¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†Find a Bill ‚Äď This database will help visitors look up legislation by subject or bill number, track bills throughout the legislative process, and view roll call votes.
¬∑¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†Media Room ‚Äď Here visitors will be able to read press releases, watch videos and listen to radio feeds from the Senate Majority Caucus.
¬∑¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†Get INvolved ‚Äď This section has information on our internship program, student page program, Statehouse tour office, classroom resources and other ways for constituents to stay engaged.
¬∑¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬† Blog ‚Äď Readers will get a behind-the-scenes look at the General Assembly from those involved in its daily work.
‚ÄúWe want to encourage all Hoosiers to visit our caucus‚Äô new and improved site,‚ÄĚ Long said. ‚ÄúI expect it will be a more user-friendly resource for constituents to find information, learn about potential new laws or watch the State Senate in action.‚ÄĚ
