03/25/13  “Happy Days Are Here Again” sang J. Jay Brook to the residents and guests at Miller’s Senior Living Community on Tuesday afternoon March 19th.  And by the smiles throughout the audience it was apparent they agreed with him.  Brook who is originally from Wales now resides in Porter, Indiana and has become a fan favorite of the Miller’s residents.  Brook performs a wide variety of up-tempo music and often alters his wardrobe throughout the concert to enhance his song choice.  Although St. Patrick’s Day was over Brook sang several favorite Irish tunes including “I’m Looking Over A Four Leaf Clover”, “McNamara’s Band”, “Irish Lullaby” and “When Irish Eyes Are Smiling”.  A crowd favorite was Brook’s rendition of “Oh Danny Boy”.  He also sang hits of the Beatles, Tom Jones and the Andrews Sisters’ hit “Don’t Sit Under The Apple Tree With Anyone Else But Me”.  Residents Rita Nye and Helen Hollett each won a prize for naming the three Andrews sisters – Patty, Laverne and Maxine.  Plymouth resident Marjorie Sechrist won two free Miller’s Restaurant Gift Certificates at the close of the concert.  Brook will return to Miller’s Senior Living Community on Monday, April 29th at 3:30 p.m.  This concert will feature movie tunes.  It is free and open to the public.
