Journeyman Lineman, holding food drive for Neighborhood Center

July 8, 2013

07/09/13 Journeyman Lineman of Marshall County REMC, Doug MacLain, is partnering with the Marshall County Neighborhood Center by initiating a food drive as part of his RELITE project. RELITE (Rural Electrical Leaders in Training Education) is a leadership program for employees of Indiana’s electric cooperatives.

The Marshall County REMC Neighborhood Center has a need for certain food items in the summer. The demand for these food items is high, while supplies are low. All contributions donated to Marshall County REMC will go directly to the Neighborhood Center to help feed families that are less fortunate.

Bring in any of the items below to the Marshall County REMC office and receive a FREE CFL bulb!

• Peanut butter

• Tuna

• Cold/hot cereals

• Canned goods (fruits, veggies, soups, beans)

• Rice

• Boxed meals (Tuna/Hamburger helper)

• Spaghetti sauce & paste

Marshall County REMC will be collecting donations at their office until Friday, October 11. The REMC office is located at 11299 12th Road Plymouth, IN 46563. For more information, please call 574-936-3161.

The Marshall County Neighborhood Center’s mission is to provide basic needs services while encouraging steps toward self-sufficiency. As part of its many services, the Neighborhood Center offers a food pantry in the style of a self-serve grocery, energy assistance programs and a clothing boutique.
