12/19/13 The LaVille High School Student Council recently got into the holiday spirit this year, not by doing a gift exchange or secret Santa, but by giving back to local families. The Student Council members gave up their own free time and met at Wal-Mart to shop for a local family through the school’s Adopt a Family program. The club spends the year raising money in order to participate in different charity events like Adopt a Family, Toys for Tots, and Pennies for Patients. The club spent nearly an hour combing the shelves for the specific needs and wants of their designated family and wrapped the gifts so that they are ready for the family on Christmas.
