12/13/13 The Marshall County Coroner’s office is investigating an industrial accident that occurred shortly before noon yesterday in Tippecanoe, in southeast Marshall County. Fifty four year old truck driver Alfonso Hernandez of Portage was killed instantly in an accident while unloading his truck. Hernandez was unloading the vehicle when the load became unstable and fell on him.
Marshall County Coroner Bill Cleavenger said that drug and alcohol tests will be conducted which is standard procedure in any industrial accident. The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, Indiana State Police, Tippecanoe Fire Department and Bourbon EMS assisted at the scene.
