11/18/13 Are you looking for something meaningful to do for the holidays this year?

REAL Services has more than 300 wish lists from elderly clients who are alone and have no one to visit them over the holidays.  You can make this holiday season merry and bright for local senior citizens by becoming an Elf for an Elder.   You will not only spread holiday cheer, but also let a senior citizen know that there is someone who cares.

Individuals, groups, or organizations can adopt an elder for the holidays through the “Elves for Elders” program at REAL Services. The focus is on providing holiday gifts and kindness to seniors who don’t have friends and family who can provide for them.  Adopting an elder includes purchasing gifts from his or her holiday “wish list.”  The Adopter will be provided with the name, age, and wish list, as well as details about the program.

To adopt an elder in Marshall County for the holidays, call 800-552-7928 or stop by the REAL Services offices located at 510 West Adams Street in Plymouth between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. November 18 through November 22.  For more information visit the website http://www.realservices.org/Volunteer/OppElves.html.
