02/05/13 Plymouth Police were dispatched Friday evening at 5:19 to a residence in the 700 block of Broadway Street for an apparent stabbing.
A 9-1-1 call sent city police officers to the Broadway Street home where they located Crystal Mata. She had stab wounds to her hand and back. She was transported to Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth. She was treated and release later that night for her injuries.
Detective Leo Mangus with the Plymouth Police Department began an investigation on the incident. It is alleged that Crystal Mata’s husband, 47 year old Maximino Mata of 900 Bailey Street was involved in the incident. Mr. Mata was arrested at 7:40 Friday evening at his home. He was booked into the Marshall County Jail for aggravated battery with a knife a class B felony and with battery with means of a deadly weapon a class C felony. Mata’s bond was set at $20,000 cash.
