01/04/13 Residents of Miller’s Senior Living Community got a head start celebrating on New Year’s Eve with a Prime Rib and Twice Baked Potato luncheon on December 31st.  Special entertainment was provided by the Rock-N-Roll Crooner, Quentin Flagg of Plymouth.  Flagg appeared in his black tuxedo at 1:30 p.m. to get the party started.   Volunteers Paul Large, Brandon Knepper, and Phyllis and Larry Wright joined in the fun by passing out New Year’s hats, noise makers and poppers.

Flagg sang all the standard crooner hits as well as some popular 50’s rock and roll during his show.  He also took time to give a lesson on how the party poppers worked and when they would use them.  The first half of the show included such hits as “When the Saints Come Marching In”, “Johnny B. Goode”, and “Hello, Mary Lou”.  As Flagg sang “Mack the Knife” Miller’s staff members passed out glasses of champagne and sparkling grape juice.  As the clock struck 2:00 p.m. balloons dropped from the upstairs balcony and Flagg proposed a toast to 2013. The crowd sang “Auld Lang Syne” and drank a toast.  They then had fun batting balloons around and shooting off their party poppers.  Flagg continued with his show and periodically joined in the balloon play.  At the conclusion of the program Flagg gave each person in attendance a photo and took time to visit and sign autographs.
