09/12/13 The Northern Indiana Food Bank hits the road one day each week delivering nutritious food directly to those in need in Elkhart, Kosciusko, LaPorte, Marshall, Starke and St. Joseph Counties.

Fresh perishable items including dairy, grains, produce and protein along with dry goods are offered free of charge to Northern Indiana residents. The Food Bank’s mobile pantry team set up tables where people in need can “shop” and select items that best meet their needs.

The pantries are a first come, first serve basis for those in need of food assistance.  Mobile Pantry patrons must provide a valid photo ID (driver’s license or Indian ID) and you are asked to bring bags or boxes to transport your items home.  Mobile food pantries serve approximately 300 households during a two-hour time period.

The next Marshall County mobile food pantry will be held this Friday, September 13th from 10 a.m. till noon at the House of Prayer, 12450 Plymouth Goshen Trail in Plymouth.
