12/06/13 The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was a busy place in November.  There were 186 jail bookings last month.  The top ten offenses were 10-Marijuana, 9-Court Order Hearing, 8-Battery, 7-Probation Violation, and 6-Operator Never Licensed.   Number 5 was Driving While Suspended, 4-Illegal Consumption of Alcohol, 3-Theft, 2-Failure to Appear and the number one reason people were lodged in the Marshall County Jail, Operating While Intoxicated.

The 186 individuals were arrested by all police departments in the county.  Argos police arrested 2 males, Bourbon Police arrested 2 males and 1 female, Bremen Police arrested 8 males and 3 females. Culver Police officers arrested 4 males while the Indiana State Police arrested 3 male and 1 female, and LaPaz arresting 1 male.   The two agencies making the most arrests in November were the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department with 70 males and 21 females and the Plymouth Police Department with 26 males and 19 females.

County police officers had 113 accident reports.  13 traffic accidents involved personal injuries and 98 were property damage accident.  The Sheriff’s department also investigated 2 fatality accidents.

Officers took 77 case reports, wrote 189 citations, received 560 civil process papers and served 509 civil papers.
