08/23/13 The Plymouth Optimists met Tuesday morning at the Plymouth Ponderosa Restaurant for their weekly meeting. Guest speakers for the day were Matt Cripe representing the Plymouth Flight Squadron of the Indiana wing of the Civil Air Patrol, and member Linda Yoder representing The Marshall County United Way.

Matt shared a little about the Cadet Program, under the Civil Air Patrol. The mission of the Indiana Wing of the Civil Air Patrol has three Congressional assigned key missions: emergency services, disaster relief operations, and aerospace education for youth and the general public, with a cadet program for teenage youth.

Matt and the cadets have volunteered to help the Optimists with their pancake breakfast on Sunday, September 1st at the Plymouth Municipal Airport. Along with the Cadets, the Plymouth Cross Country team will also be helping, as they have for the past several years.

Linda Yoder led the group in a “Jeopardy” game about the United Way in Marshall County. The club was educated about the United Way Campaign and the upcoming events for United Way.
