15th Annual Warm Up Marshall County Huge Success

November 24, 2013

11/25/13 The 15th Annual Warm Up Marshall County coat distribution program had an excellent response from the community this year with donations of coats.

Founder Steve Keiser, from Oliver Ford said, “Over 1,000 coats were donated to the program in just about a months’ time.  Coats were cleaned and mended if necessary and readied for distribution.”

Not only did those in need get to select a good coat to help keep them warm this winter season, they also got a hat and gloves provided by Smith’s Ace Hardware and Oliver Ford.

Distribution of the coats was held at the National Guard Armory.  On Saturday and Sunday members of the Plymouth High School Student Council, members of the local 40 and 8 veterans’ organization and staff from Oliver Ford assisted in helping those looking for coats.

Although the line to get winter coats wasn’t as long as the free turkey line, folks still had to wait outside for the doors to open at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Any coats left over will be donated on to another worthy cause.
