05/08/13 Monday evening members of the Plymouth Park Board were updated on the River Park Square project by Mike Reese from Troyer Group .  A pre-construction meeting was held last week with Michiana Contracting, low bidder for the project($1,325,270.19).

Reese told park board members all three alternatives; the performance structure including the concrete paving, steps and seat wall ($224,270.19); the Farmers’ Market Plaza with pavers, benches, pads and water fountain ($42,962); and the Farmers’ Market Pergola Plaza with benches and tables and chairs ($49,175)will be included.

Construction will begin on Monday, June 3rd, immediately following the Yellow River Festival on Saturday and Sunday June 1st and 2nd.  Work will begin with demolition of LaPorte Street from Water to River Street and utility work.

Mayor Senter said the Farmers’ Market will open this Saturday in its regular location and then on June 1st move to the far east end of the parking lot, east of the magnolia tree for the remainder of the summer to allow for the construction of the new park.

Construction will continue through the summer and is expected to be completed the end of October.
