03/18/13 Starting an art career at the age of 53, Pat Thompson began by doing fabric and tole painting. Her husband and grandson were the subjects of her first original oil painting on canvas. In the fall of 1994, she entered and was accepted into a Juried Art Show. The following year, her painting of the 100 year old Rochester Court House won a special judges award and was purchased.
Currently Pat’s work can be seen in various juried art shows and at the Brushtracks Studio/Gallery. Her painting medium is acrylic on canvas and she created one-of-a-kind collage cards to sell. The originals can be viewed on her website www.brushtracks.com along with a large selection of hand signed and numbered Limited Edition Giclee prints on canvas and watercolor paper.
Pat completed the North Light Art School in 1998 and has attended a variety of art classes and workshops since. She feels her art is an ongoing learning process and there lies the joy of creating. Along with the many shows, awards, honors, and commissions, Pat has appeared with her art on television, has hosted several one person shows, is a part of an annual Holiday Tour, teaches art classes and keeps busy doing commissioned painting.
