“I thought Glenn was outplaying us physically. We were letting them get to their spots without any physical play by us. So at halftime, I had a talk with our boys about how that half went. And we came out more focused, more physical, just…more ready to play.”, said Plymouth Head Coach Ryan Bales.
The second half indeed proved to be the difference where Plymouth outscored Glenn 44-20. Plymouth went from shooting 29% in the first half, to finishing with 46% from the floor by games end.
“I was looking for a response from our guys, and I got it. I still think we struggled getting the ball inside to Mack (Mercer), and I thought Glenn did a pretty good job keeping us from getting it inside. But we need to have kids who are going to work hard to get open if they want to be a scorer. I thought we settled a lot in that first half. Corrected it, mostly, in the second half. But I still wasn’t that pleased with how we ran the offense.”, added Bales.
It was Senior Night at the Rock where Seniors David Lee (10 pts), Gabe Vervynkt (6 pts), Ike Kastner (9 pts), Joe Knapp (11 pts) and Keyser McCrammer (2 pts) were honored before the ballgame.
“Tonight was Senior Night, a big night for our Seniors, who have put in an incredible amount of time, talent, and most of all, effort, to this program over the last couple years I’ve been here. It’s been a pleasure…and honor to coach them. Good news is that we are not done yet. We have the Sectionals coming up, and those Seniors have some high expectations, goals for themselves. I look forward to a fun post season.”, said Bales.
