04/02/13 The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety opened quotes for a new Waste Water Department truck chassis and body during their meeting Monday night.  Although requests were sent to five companies, Oliver Ford in Plymouth was the only auto dealer to respond.  The quote for a single axel truck with the tool boxes and a hoist to raise lift stations was $52,685 for the chassis and body.  Utility Superintendent Donnie Davidson said he had budgeted $58,000 in this year’s budget for the vehicle.  The sole quote was taken under-advisement.

The Board of Public Works ratified the award of quotes for three new police vehicles.  County Auto had the quote for a police cruiser with a Dodge Charger at $20,357.  Oliver Ford had the low quote for two all wheel drive utility units with the Ford Interceptor at $45,397.  Total for all three vehicles was $65,754 and Chief Bacon said he had a budgeted of $67,500 for vehicle purchased this year.

The Plymouth Board also approved a resolution designating a 2006 unmarked Ford Taurus Police Department vehicle as surplus property.  The resolution allows for a transfer of the Taurus to the Plymouth Board of Aviation and in return the aviation board will offer a former 1999 Ford Crown Victoria police vehicle as a trade-in for the new police vehicles.
