01/22/13 The 2nd Annual Plymouth High School Riley Dance Marathon, which took place on January 12, raised $17,049.53. That’s more than the $11,000 raised last year and represents the total raised at all events held throughout the year, including funds raised by volunteers in our community and the donations of some very generous local businesses. PHS students who organize the event are members of the Class Officers, Student Council, K.E.Y. Club and L.E.A.D Club.

Since the January 12 event, several donations have been made to add to the total funds raised. Because Plymouth High School is considered a Mini-Marathon of the Ball State University Dance Marathon (who counts the PHS total in with theirs to help meet their goal), funds can continue to be added to the total raised until the BSU Dance Marathon, scheduled to take place on February 16, 2013. BSU’s goal this year is $100,000. At this time, PHS will be able to contribute toward that goal, $19,500.

This was a doubly thrilling day as PHS’s very own Hannah Jacobs was also honored as a Riley Champion during half time of the Boys’ Varsity Basketball Game. The school and community are so proud of Hannah as she represents Riley Kids everywhere in such a profound way.

PHS is thrilled to participate in such a positive activity and wish to thank our numerous sponsors & supporters: Gibson Insurance Company, Krogers, Mancino’s, Bourbon Street Pizza, Ponderosa, Pizza Hut, A-Plus Brokerage, Java Trail, Meridian Title Corp, DBA, Encore Consignment Shop, WalGreens, WTCA, Yoder’s and many others in the Plymouth Community.
