01/31/13 The Plymouth Rockies Wrestling team earned the team sectional championship and had five wrestlers in the final match with four becoming champions.
Champion wrestlers for Plymouth were:
106 pound Cody Allmon,
126 pound Kam Markovich
220 pound DeAndre Pickford and
285 pound Drew Dodson.
Rockie wrestlers have ten wrestlers moving on to the regional competition in Rochester this Saturday, Feb. 2 starting at 9:00am.
Plymouth was the only team to place all 14 wrestlers to take the team win.

Head Coach Bob Read said, “It was a complete team effort.” He noted that it came down to a race between Plymouth and CMA. CMA had beaten Plymouth in a dual meet in the season opening competition this year by 25 points. Coach Read said, “Our kids have worked hard as they have gotten better. The last two weeks have shown how much work our boys have put in.”
Read noted, “This year we have several coaches that have made a huge difference in how much improvement the boys have made.” John Mills, Ryan Fust, Chris Prendergast, Mike Somorin, Travis Meister, Matt Turpin, and Jim Calhoun.
