02/26/13 Saturday evening about 7 p.m. County Police Officer Jonathon Bryant conducted a traffic stop on silver, Pontiac Grand Am at the intersection of Michigan and Jackson Streets for several traffic violations. During his investigation Officer Bryant discovered narcotics in the vehicle along with a loaded hand gun. The vehicle was driven by 19 year old John Groves Jr of Plymouth was also stolen.
Mr. Groves was subsequently arrested and transported to the Marshall County Jail and held without bond. He is facing multiple felony charges including criminal conversion a C felony, auto theft a D felony, possession of a scheduled IV controlled substance a D felony, receiving stolen property a D felony, and carrying a handgun without a permit an A misdemeanor.
