06/19/13 On Sunday evening June 16th at approximately Plymouth Police Officer Derek Workman attempted to stop a vehicle traveling west on Hoham Drive. The vehicle failed to stop and Officer Workman pursued the vehicle as it traveled west on 6B Road into Starke County. Officers assisting in the pursuit were from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, Walkerton Police Department and North Liberty Police.
The pursuit traveled east of Koontz Lake before traveling back through Walkerton when the vehicle finally came to a stop east of Walkerton on US 6. The driver was identified as 27 year old, Anthony D. Porter Jr. of Plymouth and arrested for driving while suspended, child neglect and resisting law enforcement.
The additional charges were because a 7 week old child along with the child’s mother was in the vehicle at the time of the traffic stop.
Anthony D. Porter is being held on a $3,005 bond.
