01/08/13 The Plymouth School Board will begin 2013 with an organizational meeting on January 8 at7:00 p.m.The School Board meeting, along with a meeting of the Board of Finance and an Executive session, will be held at the Administration Board Room onBerkley St.

As a part of the reorganization, the Board will elect officers (president, vice-president and secretary) and set meeting dates and times for the calendar year.

The regular meetings and the finance meetings are open to the public; however, comments from the audience are limited to agenda items. The Executive session is closed to the public.

The only item listed on the agenda for the Executive meeting is: “To discuss strategy with respect to the initiation or litigation which is either pending or has been specifically threatened in writing.” The Board of Finance meeting will include the election of a president.

During the regular Board meeting, the members will hear a report on “Focus on Learning: High School Robotics program; seek permission for bids for renovations; receive conflict of interest statements; and consider snow make-up day of January 21, 2013. Additional items include permission to seek contract with a security consultant and consider classified conditions and pay increase.

The consent portion of the agenda includes the appointment of a treasurer, establish individual bonds for treasurer, Board compensation, appoint a legislative liaison, appoint a member to student services committee, and establish legal counsel. The Board will consider the retirements of Suzanne Jamriska, Washington, 4th grade teacher, effective6-30-2013 and Mary Beth Hunter,PlymouthHigh School, Athletic Secretary, effective4-1-2013.
