10/10/13 The Plymouth Optimist Club was pleased to have James Phillips Director of Safety and Security for the Plymouth Community School for our morning speaker.  The newly created position was filled just a couple of months ago.

Phillips will be meeting with the current School Safety Committee and speaking to both staff and parents. He will also be working with the local police and sheriff’s department because they are the first responders in emergency situations.  He said he also plans to work closely with EMA(Emergency Management Agency.)

He will assume the duties as the school’s truancy officer.

Mr. Phillips brings a lot of experience in the field of security to Plymouth.   Jim is a 1984 Plymouth High School graduate.  He has a vast background in law enforcement and safety.   After working in law enforcement and safety for years, he is glad to be returning to raise his family here.
