09/05/13 This past weekend the Plymouth Yoder’s 12U travel team won the Blueberry Festival 12U baseball tournament.  This is the first time under the coaching of Bob Caban that the Plymouth team has won this tournament.

  After winning both of their pool play games the weekend before the boys were a number one seed and played their first game of tournament play on Sunday.  The boys played Logansport and won with a score of 10-0.  Then on Monday, they beat South Bend Eastside with a score of 8-0 and won the championship game against Hammond with a score of 10-0.

  Hitting results were:
Evan Zeigler had four hits and five RBI’s.

Clay Hilliard had two hits and three RBI’s.

Cole Filson had four hits with a home run and six RBI’s.

Cam Dennie had eight hits with a home run and six RBI’s.

Ezra Winkle had three hits and five RBI’s.

Tim Tremaine had three hits and five RBI’s.

In this weekend’s three games our pitchers, Cam Dennie and Cole Filson had 29 strike outs.

  This has been a great season for the team.  We appreciate all of the support from the parents, fans and sponsors.  This years sponsors were:  Yoder’s Sports Center, Plymouth Pizza Hut, Plymouth FOP, Rickscapes, Mancinos, Young’s TV and Appliances, American Legion Post 27, State Farm Laurie Sutter and Montgomery Well Drilling.
