09/23/13 The Indiana State Police Criminal Interdiction Unit and the Plymouth Police Department have been conducting several weeks of investigations involving methamphetamine.  During the investigation enough probable cause was collected to obtain a search warrant for 2210 Lake Avenue in Plymouth.   The Indiana State Police SWAT team, the Indiana State Police Criminal Interdiction team, Plymouth Police Department, and Marshall County Sheriff’s Department assisted in executing the search warrant on Wednesday, September 18th in the early morning hours. 

  One young child and 58 year old Pamela Chizum were located at the residence.   

  During a search of the home methamphetamines and drug items were located.  It was learned that three other children were living at the residence along with 35 year old Tara Chizum.  Marshall County Child Protective Service was called to the scene and detained the children.  Pamela Chizum was arrested for possession of methamphetamines, child neglect, maintaining a common nuisance and possession of paraphernalia.  She was held in the Marshall County Jail on a $1,505 cash bond which was paid about 10:45 that same morning.  Pamela is scheduled to appear in Marshall Superior Court 2 on October 15th.    

Tara Chizum was located a short time later and arrested for possession of methamphetamines, child neglect, maintaining a common nuisance and possession of paraphernalia and lodged in the Marshall County Jail.  She too was held on a $1,505 cash bond.  

Information from this warrant service will be forwarded to the Marshall County Prosecutor Office for review and possibly additional charges pending the investigation.  Police indicated the possibility of additional warrants on other individuals due to their investigation.

  The Indiana State Police Criminal Interdiction Team left the State Road 17 scene and went to Bourbon to serve another warrant.  They along with the Plymouth Police Department and Bourbon Police were in the process of locating further subjects involved in the investigation when a vehicle was identified with a suspended driver. Operating the vehicle was 28 year old Melissa Johnson of Plymouth.  The vehicle was stopped and Johnson was taken into custody for driving while suspended with a prior change and was held in the county jail on a $1,505 bond. 

  Upon further investigation Office John Weir’s K-9 partner Jax indicated a positive hit on the vehicle for drugs.  Methamphetamine was located in the vehicle in the purse belonging to 18 year old Jessalyn Matthews.  Other drug paraphernalia was also located in the vehicle.  Jessalyn Matthews was arrested for possession of methamphetamines and possession of paraphernalia and held on a $3,005 bond. She was transported and lodged at the Marshall County Jail.

A third female was released after speaking with police. 

Information from this case is being forwarded to the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office for review and further charges are possible against all three subjects. 

The Indiana State Police Criminal Interdiction Team along with the Plymouth Police Department then left Bourbon and went to a residence on Stanton Road just north of LaPaz in reference to follow up and serve an active Parole Warrant.  As Officers arrived at 22819 Stanton Road in Lakeville they located 54 year old Brian Beeman who resided at the residence.  Beeman was taken into custody on the Parole Warrant  At that time, he was found to be in possession of Methamphetamine.  Brian Beeman was transported to the St. Joseph County Jail.
