07/08/13 On display now at the Culver-Union Township Public Library are a large collection of quilts courtesy of the Wesley United Methodist Church Susanna Quilters group. The quilts of many different sizes are on display throughout the lobby and main floor of the library through the month of July

The Susanna Quilters group has been together for 15 years, and has approximately 20 members. The participants are a fellowship of friends from the Wesley United Methodist Church in Culver. The group was started by Phyllis Pearson, an avid quilter and member of Wesley UMC. Phyllis started the group in order to teach others how to quilt. The Susanna Quilters meet weekly, and even attend a quilting retreat once every year. They do a lot of local charity work, including baby quilts for all babies born to members of the Wesley UMC, pillowcases for Riley Hospital, and lap quilts for Miller’s Merry Manor.

Stop by CUTPL today to admire the inspired and beautiful handiwork of the Wesley UMC Susanna Quilters. For more information, contact Reference/Adult Services Librarian, Laura Jones, at 574-842-2941 or ljones@culver.lib.in.us.
