The 6th grade A team defeated both of their opponents at the TVMS tournament to earn the championship trophy.  The girls put their defensive and offensive talents on display, and played amazing team basketball.  The first game vs. Whitko was the A team’s toughest opponent of the tournament, and Kacee Peters’ 10 points helped the Lady Rockets earn a 41 to 12 victory.  The second game vs. TVMS, the Lady Rockets won easily scoring 46 points.  I was blown away by the unselfish play of the whole team.  This was the A team’s best game of the season, and every player contributed in big way.  Way to go girls!!!

B Team

The  6th grade B team played two very tough opponents during the tournament.  The Lady Rockets placed second at the tourney with a record of 1 and 1.  The first game vs. TVMS, the girls trailed by 2 points going into the 4th quarter and battled back to win by 3 points.  Alysa Kaminskas lead all scorers with 9 points, and Mercedes Bastardo and Kaitlyn Carothers both had huge buckets during the end of the game.  The second game vs Whitko came right down to the last second.  Whitko made 2 last second free throws that lead to a 1 point Whitko victory.  I was very proud of how the girls played under pressure, and how this team plays hard every second.
