12/13/13 On Tuesday, December 10th at approximately 11:56 p.m. a Marshall County Deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle at the intersection of Michigan and Church Streets in LaPaz. The traffic stop was for a moving violation. During the course of the stop it was determined that the driver, 36 year old Jeffery Sustak of Rochester was operating a vehicle after being adjudged a habitual traffic violator. Mr. Sustak was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked in on a $3,000 cash bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
