Plymouth Rockie running-back Sam Stevens signed a letter of intent to play for Bemidji State University in Minnesota.

Stevens Captained his Plymouth High School team to a Northern Lakes Conference championship in 2012 and was an Indiana Football Coaches Association Region II All-Star Team selection.   He led Plymouth his junior season with 1,053 yards and 18 touchdowns and as a senior with 1,359 yards and 17 touchdowns.   Finished his high school career with over 3,000 yards and 31 touchdowns on the ground.

Stevens broke the Rockies’ single-game rushing record with 289 yards (and four touchdowns).

He had 14 career games with 100 rushing yards or more and is second in school history in rushing yards per game, third in career carries, and fourth all-time in yards.

He also wrestled and competed in track for Plymouth.

Was an honor roll student who was involved in the Indiana High School Athletic Association Operation Leadership student leadership conference.
