07/31/13 Melissa Newton, South Bend Medical Foundation Donor Recruitment Specialist sent a big thank you to Mayor Mark Senter and his administrative assistant, Laura Mann for hosting this past weekend’s blood drive.
The blood drive at the Farmers’ Market on Saturday was a success. The total numbers of successful units of blood collected were 19 and they had to defer 7 potential donors.
Newton said, “It is amazing to know that the drive you put together will save the lives of up to 57 people right here in our community!” She continued, “Over the weekend, several of our community members were involved in traumas that required treatment through the use of blood products. It may have been one of your donors that was actively involved in providing a lifesaving measure.”
