06/12/13 Marshall County Sheriff Tom Chamberlin recently released the May Jail Stats.

There were 151 bookings into the Marshall County Jail last month. 105 men and 44 women were book from the various departments around the county with Sheriff officers arresting 48 of the males and 20 females.  The difference in the jail bookings were 2 individuals who were lodged in the jail directly through the courts. 

The top ten reasons for people being booked into the County Jail in May were: 10.)  Domestic Battery  9.) Marijuana 8.) Possession of a Controlled Substance  7.) Operator never licensed  6.) Driving while Suspended and  5th.) Dealing Cocaine and Methamphetamine.   The Top four reasons people were lodged in the jail included  4.)  Probation Violation  3.) Theft  2.)  Failure to Appear and the 1.) reason,  Operating while Intoxicated

Marshall County Police Officers investigated 78 traffic accidents with 63 being property damage, 13 involving personal injury and 2 fatalities. 

93 case reports were taken in May and 213 citations were written.  713 civil process papers were received at the Sheriff’s Department and 588 were served last month. 

Marshall County Dispatch Center answered 958 calls in the month of May, 582 police related calls, 125 9-1-1 calls for fire departments and 251 9-1-1 calls for EMS.  The Marshall County Dispatch Center also answered 799 calls on their non-emergency lines. 

During the month of May, Marshall County Deputies self-initiated 776 calls including traffic stops, assisting motorists, removing debris from roadways and such.
