01/15/13 For the past month the Marshall County Sheriff Department had been taking reports of simple thefts out of vehicles in the Center and West Township area. Those areas include 12th road, State Road 17 and Lincoln Highway. The suspect(s) are entering unlocked vehicles and taking change and small items. On occasions they will take paperwork out of the vehicle that could lead to identify theft. They have entered unlocked garages or out buildings and rummaged thru the unlocked vehicles in the buildings. It is believed that the suspect(s) in the area are walking from house to house. It is unknown if the suspect(s) are being dropped off or live in the area.
If you see suspicious activities please report it to your local authorities any time day or night. Please remember to lock your vehicle(s), residence and out buildings before leaving your residence or if you’re in for the night.
