06/04/13 The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces one day of periodic 20-30 minute complete closures of the U.S. 20 Bypass (St. Joseph Valley Parkway) between the Ironwood exit and the Michigan Street exit beginning at 8 a.m. Wednesday, June 5th. The closures are necessary to ensure driver safety as massive beams are set for the new Fellows Street Bridge spanning over the U.S. 20 Bypass. Additional lane restrictions and a ramp closure on the U.S. 20 Bypass will take place in the days leading up to Wednesday, June 5th so crews can prepare equipment for the beam setting.

The exit to northbound Michigan Street from westbound U.S. 20 Bypass will be closed beginning Friday, May 31st through Thursday, June 6th. Lane restrictions will also be placed in both directions of the U.S. 20 Bypass on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 4th and 5th, between the Ironwood exit and the Michigan Street exit.

To avoid delays, drivers are encouraged to avoid the U.S. 20 Bypass on Wednesday, June 5th.

INDOT reminds drivers to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through a construction zone. For the latest road closures and news from INDOT, like us at www.Facebook.com/INDOTNorthwest and follow us at www.Twitter.com/INDOTNorthwest.
