05/10/13 In Indiana, property taxes are due twice a year, once in the fall and once in the spring. This year’s spring installment is due on Friday, May 10. The second installment will be due on November 12th.
The Marshall County Treasurer’s Office will be open today (Friday) from 8 a.m. till 6 p.m. You may also use the drop box on the south end of the building until 6 p.m. Payments can also be made at the First State Bank in Bourbon or at any Lake City Bank branches in the county. You must have your tax statements in order for your payment to be accepted.
Property taxes can also be paid for on line by going to www.co.marshall.in.us then click on the Treasurer’s page, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Marshall County Online Tax Payments.
According to data compiled by Indiana’s Department of Local Government Finance, 10 percent of Hoosiers were late on at least one of their property tax payments last year. Over the last five years, the average rate of delinquent payments is 10.9 percent, according to that data.
