Statehouse  07/22/13 Each summer and fall, when Indiana’s part-time legislature is not in session, lawmakers are assigned to interim study committees that meet to review the state’s top issues, as identified by the General Assembly during the prior legislative session.

These study committees are integral parts of our legislative process in Indiana. The reports released by these committees often determine what new laws will come before the General Assembly during the next legislative session.

This interim, Senator Randy head has been appointed to the following committees:

  • Indiana Commission on Autism, chair
  • Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations, chair
  • Census Data Advisory Committee
  • Military Base Planning Council

There are several ways you can stay involved and informed about summer study committee topics. The complete list of study committees can be found on line (here) and each committee’s agenda can be found by clicking on the individual committee’s link. The calendar for committee meeting dates is available on line (here).

The public is welcome to attend these meetings or stream them live online. Before streaming, find the committee’s location on the calendar.

State Senator Randy Head said, “Please don’t hesitate to contact me about these committees or any other issues you may have this summer. I look forward to hearing from you as we prepare for the 2014 legislative session.”
