05/07/13 Saturday morning cars were lined up at the Team Courtney car wash and bake sale at the Argos Fire Department.  The fundraiser was for Courtney Demont.  Courtney was critically injured in a single vehicle roll-over accident on Kenilworth Road, just north of her home on Thursday, April 18th.  The other two occupants, Mariah Linebury and the driver, Sean Mullany were not injured as severely.

Family, friends, the Argos Schools and community along with the other communities in Marshall County have stepped up to the plate with fundraisers to help the DeMont family in their time of need.

On Saturday kids and adults washed cars, vans, jeeps, and trucks for donations with all the proceeds going to the Demont family to help with medical bills and the additional expenses they have for traveling back and forth to the hospital in South Bend and spending the nights there with Courtney.  Both her mom and dad have taken leaves from work so the families could use a boost with regular monthly expenses that continue even though their daughter is in the hospital.

Dan DeMont, Courtney’s dad keeps friends updated on her progress almost daily on facebook.  She has a long road to go but almost every day there are baby steps in the right direction.  She’s been taken off the ventilator and now has a feeding tube.  Courtney can open her eyes, will squeeze your hand and moves her lips like she is trying to talk.

The car wash and bake sale raised nearly $4,000 and the Team Courtney Defy the Odds T-Shirts are still for sale at $12 each.  You must pre-pay for your shirt and expect to pick it up the following week at the same location as where you ordered them: Argos High School, Plymouth High School or here at WTCA in downtown Plymouth.
