03/05/13 The second annual Celebrate & Support Our Troops fundraising dinner and auction will be held April 11th at Memories Reception Hall at 401 East Jefferson Street in Plymouth.  All proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit Operation Quiet Comfort (OQC).

This year the meal will be a delicious pork dinner with all the trimmings and dessert.  The program for the evening will include opportunities to learn more about OQC and hear from some troops who will give firsthand knowledge of the needs and appreciation for what OQC does.

There will also be a silent auction with some outstanding items to bid on along with a live auction of items to cap off the evening.

Operation Quiet Comfort was established in July 2004 for the purpose of honoring and comforting members of the U.S. Armed Forces who are injured while serving in harm’s way, and to provide support to the medical staff who care for them. This is done mainly by sending care packages to military medical units overseas.

OQC is a non-profit organization staffed entirely by volunteers across the United States and funded solely through donations. Currently most purchasing and all packing and shipping take place in Plymouth, IN with the help of many volunteers.

There are multiple opportunities to assist with this event by donating your time, talent or resources. If you or anyone you know would like to contribute in any way please contact Ken or Jan Houin at 936-1424 or through email at janh@operationquietcomfort.com.

Tickets for the event are $15 each or a table of 8 for $125.00.  Tickets are available at Ameriprise Financial, Ancilla Athletic Department, A.S.K. For Flowers, Coldwell Banker Hometown Realty, Young’s TV and Appliance and here at WTCA.
