Traffic Stop Lands 1 in Jail for Marijuana, 1 Cited for DWS

  03/12/13  On Saturday, March 9th at 2 p.m. Patrolman Jonathan Bryant with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of US 31 and 12th Road after observing a vehicle going 83 mph in a 60 mph speed zone.  During the investigation, the vehicle operator, China Swift was found to be operating the vehicle on a suspended driver’s license. 

Patrolman Bryant requested assistance from Patrolman Jeff Sharp and Plymouth Police Officer John Weir along with his K-9 partner Jax.  A search of the vehicle was conducted by K-9 Jax and he indicated the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle. A search by the officer’s revealed marijuana and paraphernalia in the passengers purse who was identified as 20 year old, Minequa Toliver of South Bend.  Minequa Toliver was arrested for possession of marijuana and was transported to the Marshall County Jail where she was booked on a $1,505 bond.  Toliver was released later that afternoon at 5:10 after posting her cash bond.

China Swift was cited for driving while suspended.
