08/30/13  The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces U.S. 6 will reopen for Labor Day weekend traffic, between U.S. 31 and Lilac Road, by the end of the day tomorrow, Friday, August 30th. Please note: Another brief closure of U.S. 6 is necessary next week before the roadway is reopened permanently.

On Tuesday, September 3rd U.S. 6 will close again between the east junction of State Road 106 near Bremen and CR 101 in Elkhart County. U.S. 6 will reopen again permanently by the end of the day Wednesday, September 4th, weather permitting.

Drivers wishing to travel westbound on U.S. 6 will be detoured south on State Road 19, west on U.S. 30, north on State Road 331, and back to U.S. 6. Drivers wishing to travel eastbound on U.S. 6 will be detoured south on State Road 331, east on U.S. 30, north on SR 19, and back to U.S. 6.
