01/16/13 On Monday, January 14th, 2013 at approximately 1:20 pm, the Marshall County Police Department, the (UNIT) Undercover Narcotics Investigation Team, Plymouth Police Department K-9 Unit, and the Indiana State Police Emergency Response Team served a search warrant and arrest warrants at 5663 18thRoad in Argos. The search warrant and arrest warrants stemmed from two different investigations.

The Undercover Narcotics Investigation Team has been conducting a three month long investigation into the dealing and manufacturing of methamphetamine. Suspects in this investigation included Mark B. Howard and Shawn T. Speirs.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Sunday, January 13th, 2013. According to Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department, Mark B. Howard and Billie J. Minix were suspects in a shooting that occurred on U.S. Highway 421 in Pulaski County. In the early morning of January 14th, the vehicle that was described by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department was observed at the 5663 18thRoad address.

A search warrant that stemmed from both investigations was acquired by the Undercover Narcotics Investigation Team. Because of the shooting incident in Pulaski County, the Indiana State Police Emergency Response Team was requested and responded to assist in the service of the search warrant. Billie J. Minix also had an active parole warrant for his arrest.

After a brief stand off three suspects were arrested out of the residence. A fourth suspect was arrested on traffic stop prior to the service of the search warrant and arrest warrants at 5663 18th Road.

  Stephanie M. Johnson (31) of Plymouth, Indiana was arrested for Visiting a Common Nuisance (B-Misdemeanor) and a felony warrant for probation violation.

  Mark B. Howard (29) of Argos, Indiana was arrested for Dealing/Manufacturing Methamphetamine (B-Felony)

  Shawn Speirs (40) of Argos, Indiana was arrested for Dealing/Manufacturing Methamphetamine (B-Felony) and a misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear.

  Billie J. Minix (50) of Winamac, Indiana was arrested for a parole warrant through the State of Indiana Department of Corrections. Additional charges from the Marshall County Police Department and the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department have been filed through their prosecutor’s offices.

The Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab Team was also requested and responded to assist the Undercover Narcotics Investigation Team with hazardous materials used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine that were found inside the residence.
