08/21/13  A half size replica of the Washington D.C. Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial has been touring the country for the past 20 years and will be making an appearance in Three Oaks, MI this Thursday through Sunday . 

The memorial is a tribute to fallen heroes of the Vietnam War and is inscribed with the names of 58,228 military personnel who gave the ultimate sacrifice along with 1,300 veterans who are still listed as prisoners of war or missing in action.

Funded by the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians through gaming revenue, the Moving Wall will arrive at the Four Wind Casino in New Buffalo on Thursday and have a motorcycle escort to the American Legion Post 204 on West Linden Street in Three Oaks, Michigan.

Visitors will be able to view the Moving Wall Memorial around the clock starting Thursday, August 22nd at 2 p.m. and continue until Monday, August 26th at 8 a.m.  A special opening ceremony is planned for noon on Friday and a closing ceremony at 6 p.m. on Sunday. 

This will be a chance for families to view a piece of history that is making its tour around the country. There is no cost to view the memorial
