07/31/13 Habitat for Humanity’s “A Brush With Kindness” program recently completed its first critical home repair project on Alexander Street in Plymouth. A major surface water issue was allowing large amount of water to flood the basement of a homeowner. Store Excavating redesigned the elevations of the lawn to redirect the surface water away from the foundation.

Volunteers from the First United Church of Christ in Plymouth prepared the site and seeded the area affected by the excavation work.

The program assists low-income families in repairing and renovating their homes so they can continue to live in a safe, decent home. A Brush with Kindness projects include painting, landscaping, weatherization and minor repair services.
