12/09/13 Congresswoman Jackie Walorski (IN-02) Friday joined the Bremen community to congratulate local students graduating from the Bremen DARE program.  In a ceremony held at Bremen High School, Walorski delivered remarks to students from Bremen Schools and St. Paul’s Lutheran on the importance of leading a drug-free life for our families and communities.

“As the wife of a schoolteacher, I am constantly impressed with the talent and creativity of young Hoosiers who are ready to make a positive impact in our communities,” said Walorski.  “It is a privilege to join the Bremen community to congratulate this year’s DARE graduates.  I am confident the skills garnered in this important course will motivate our future leaders to make smart choices and work hard to build healthy communities.”

The Bremen DARE Program has been led by Bremen Police Chief Matt Hassel for the past 24 years.  This year, 116 students in the fifth and sixth grades from Bremen Schools and St. Paul’s Lutheran graduated from the DARE program.  The ceremony was widely attended by local law enforcement, school officials, faculty, staff, parents, and community members.
