09/18/13 Don Wendel, president of the Plymouth Redevelopment Commission announced his resignation during Tuesday night’s meeting.  Wendel’s one year appointment by the City Council would have expired at the end of the year but because he has purchased a home outside of the city limits he is no longer eligible to sit on the Redevelopment Commission.

Don Wendel is the only original member of Plymouth Redevelopment Commission still on the board.  He has been a member since 1993 with the exception of a 3 year period.

Wendel said, “I have really enjoyed my service to the tax payers.”  He continued to talk about the projects the Redevelopment Commission has been able to complete and the ones that are currently in progress.  Wendel said, “I want this board to continue to look for quality projects that will benefit the community and its citizens.”

Commission member Mike Miley has been a member for nearly two years and thanked Wendel for his expertise on the many projects noting his construction experience that has been invaluable.  He also told Wendel, “Your leadership has been outstanding.”

Tom Pedavoli, Secretary of the commission said, “Thank you for your help in exlaining the construction contracts and projects so we could understand them.”
