Twenty-Nine Plymouth High School sophomores were inducted into the National Honor Society on Sunday, May 18. They joined 27 juniors and 46 seniors as members.

Several seniors spoke during the ceremony including Danielle Erickson, Kyle Barry, Ellen Smith, Rachel Hartman, Zachary Stone, Makayla Fox, and Travis Tredway.

Barry named each of the candidates and Smith presented the history of the Honor Society.

Descriptions of the four Cardinal Principles of the organization (scholarship, character, leadership, service) were read by Hartman, Stone, Fox, and Tredway.

Principal James Condon led the new inductees in the pledge that speaks, among other things, to upholding high ideals, striving to build stronger character, carry the torch of leadership, and serve their school, community and country.

Each of the new members was presented a pin for NHS by their parents or other designated honored guests.

Director of Guidance, Aimee Portteus, presented seniors with their senior cords that designate their membership in the organization.

New members included: Kaylie Barden, Gloria Garicia, John Hunter, Haley Mills, Elise Patrick, Audrey Pratt, Samuel Stone, Max Holloway, Scott Masson, Noah Puckett, Jack Barron, Gabby Garver, Emily McKenzie, Kara Morwood, Diana Peynado, Curtis Smith, Leticia Torres, Shacoda Leed, Katelyn O’Neal, Courtney Hersick, Meghan Egierski, Karly Gruett, Andrew Miller, Morgan Oberley, Elizabeth Polstra, Sarah Smith, Jacob Hildebrand, Clayton Lenig, Guadalupe Ortiz.
